This year was the first time we’ve won a playoff game in 29 years!  This is the time for our Tigers to roar into Texas and rep their school pride! These opportunities don’t come very often. Once-in-a-lifetime experiences aren’t often thrown into a community’s lap. This is OUR time!   Towson has the rare opportunity to turn itself from a “Cinderella team,” into a perennial powerhouse of the FCS. Let’s go out there and show North Dakota just exactly what Tiger pride is about! I want to see you there, Towson!

There are TU grads all over the country, and as a result, I imagine that our Tigers will be arriving en masse! That being said, travel plans can get complicated and I know that many of you would love to go to Frisco, TX but may simply be unaware of ways to get there and back! Details about lodging and the game may also plague you- no fear! This post is meant to answer any of your questions, and also provide some solutions to potential travel problems.

I urge you to contact the Alumni Association, the Student Government Association, or the Athletics Office for any information you can’t find here.

Travel

Airplane – the closest airport to the Frisco, TX stadium is Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field Airport. Flying into those will put you about 30 minutes away from the stadium. Using the deal site, Kayak.com, roundtrip tickets today (12/31) are about $530 roundtrip.  A bit pricy, but a quick option.

Road Trip – go ahead and take a road trip with your friends! Let’s assume for these purposes that you’re driving with four other people (five total) and in a car that gets 25 miles per gallon highway and getting gas at $3.30 per gallon. The distance from Towson University to Frisco, TX is 1,365 miles (2,730 round-trip). That means each person will pay $72 in gas for the whole trip. Not too bad, and you’ll be able to catch some incredible sites across America! I’d take I-40W. You’ll pass through West Virginia University, drive through Kentucky (the Bourbon capital of the world), stop at Nashville, TN, take a stop at Little Rock, AK, and before you know you’ll be in Frisco!
