Healthy Dorm Snacks

When you live on campus, it’s hard to eat healthy, especially in a dorm with a tiny microfridge. Here are some healthy alternatives to potato chips and spray cheese.


For an easy breakfast or a quick pick-me-up before the gym, grab some bananas with peanut butter.


For a refreshing but healthy dessert, whip up a parfait with light yogurt, berries and granola. Careful not to go overboard on the granola!


String cheese is a perfect snack to throw in your backpack in the beginning of the day, then eat between classes.


Baby carrots with light ranch are an awesome snack to much on in your dorm. For more variety, replace the ranch with your favorite lite dressing.


Next time you get a craving for potato chips, opt for pita chips and hummus instead. My personal favorite combo is Sally’s Parmesan Garlic & Herb pita chips with Sabre Roasted Red Pepper hummus.


Strawberries and light cool whip are a fresh and delicious way to end your day.


Canned tuna with whole-wheat crackers are great to keep in your dorm. Bumble Bee makes prepacked tuna and crackers, which makes it even easier to enjoy this quick snack on the go.
